Many leaders experience burnout — emotionally, mentally, or spiritually — especially when serving in multiple roles.

How do you personally deal with burnout or prevent it before it starts? What practical steps, habits, or support systems have helped you regain balance?

I’m not in full-time ministry, but I’ve seen my pastor struggle with burnout too.

Sometimes, just having members volunteer for small things like organizing chairs or handling announcements can lift a huge load. We can all help more than we realize.

@owen_salumbre You’re absolutely right, Owen. Burnout prevention isn’t just a pastor’s responsibility — it’s a community effort.

Your comment highlights how simple acts of service can make a big difference. Thanks for sharing that perspective.

I went through this last year. What helped me most was setting strict Sabbath boundaries — one day each week with no ministry calls or messages.

I also started delegating tasks to lay leaders. It’s hard at first, but it reminded me that the ministry belongs to God, not just me.

That’s a healthy approach, Rev. John. 🙏 Many leaders struggle to step back because they feel responsible for everything. Your reminder that “the ministry belongs to God” is powerful. I might quote that in our next newsletter if you don’t mind!
